Full-time. Occasional evenings and Saturdays required during tax season.
Salary Range:
$45,000 – $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits included.
Location:
Easley, SC. In-person presence required (tax sites and/or office).
Position Summary:
The Free File Program Manager is a member of United Way of Pickens County’s Community
Impact team and is responsible for all operational aspects of the Free File program (Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance/VITA). Key responsibilities include hiring and supervising support
personnel, training and managing volunteers, promoting the program, and building partnerships
with local organizations.

General Program Administration
• Serve as the primary contact for all UWPC Free File tax sites.
• Develop the annual calendar, agendas, site and volunteer schedules, and coordinate events.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise seasonal Site Coordinators.
• Train Site Coordinators in tax preparation, quality review, and site operations.
• Approve time sheets and submit them to the Chief Financial Officer.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Set annual goals to expand program reach in Pickens County.
• Collaborate with the Director of Financial Stability to write and submit the annual IRS federal
grant and ensure deliverables are met.
Maintain accurate program records and submit required reports in collaboration with
Director of Financial Stability.
• Track program outcomes using TaxSlayer and MyFreeTaxes software.
